Sightseeing
Mofatt TunnelAs part of your Canyon Spirit journey, you’ll traverse the remarkable Moffat Tunnel—an engineering marvel stretching six miles through the Rockies. Here, the train crosses the Continental Divide, the spine of the mountains that separates watersheds flowing west to the Pacific and east to the Atlantic. Spanning 650 miles and 21 counties, the Divide includes many of Colorado’s highest peaks.
Burns Canyon
Passing between the Flat Tops Wilderness on one side and the Sawatch Range on the other, you’ll encounter a remote gem. The red walls of Burns Canyon showcase the essence of Colorado’s natural splendor, making it an ideal spot for photographs. Visitors in the fall are treated to a vibrant tapestry of orange and gold hues.
Glenwood Canyon
The largest canyon on the Upper Colorado River, Glenwood Canyon was sculpted over three million years by the powerful Colorado River. This 16-mile marvel—famous among thrill-seekers for its rushing white water—features an intricate network of caves, 40 bridges, and two impressive 4,000-foot-long tunnels.
Mount Garfield
Rising to 6,800 feet, Mount Garfield is the highest point along the 200-mile-long Book Cliffs.
