Abel was a knowledgeable, positive, caring tour manager on our trip. He made sure we were always taken care of going above and beyond what was expected. I would highly recommend him as a requested trip tour manager to our friends. Rodrigo, the assistant manager for part of the tour, was very helpful and informative, as well. Walter, who assisted us in coming from and going to the airport, was friendly and welcoming. He gave us great suggestions as to what to explore on our first day in Lima. The drivers were excellent. They made us feel safe as we drove sometimes at night in heavy traffic and on windy roads. Gate1 has chosen the most excellent people to conduct this tour! I will recommend this tour to friends.

This was our first Gate 1 trip. I want to express how much we appreciated our tour manager Jose. He was likely one of the best tour guides/managers we have experienced. Excellent communication and organizational skills Incredibly knowledgeable, personable, highly responsible, always focused on our safety (physical safety as well as food), kept the group aligned around complex logistics for Machu Picchu - and just a wealth of knowledge and kindness. We were also super impressed with all the Gate 1 personnel that we encountered from the start to the end - drivers, assistant tour managers, airport transfer guides etc. - as well as the trip organization and depth experienced in a compact timeline.

I just returned from an amazing 10 day tour of Peru and I want to thank our wonderful guide Washington for a fascinating cultural experience. His indigenous background and many years of experience obviously meant our trip was seamless and our experiences were enriched from the depth of his knowledge of the country and culture. His assistant Jimmy also added a lot to our enjoyment as well. He will be someone that could follow in Washington's footsteps for sure. Highlights for me were, of course Machu Picchu (we lucked out with weather), the cultural center visit of Chinchero in the Sacred Valley and the visit to the reed islands and their inhabitants on Lake Titicaca. We had an amazing trip in Peru with Gate 1. We hit the lottery with our tour manager, Pavel. Pavel is the best tour manager we've had so far for all the discovery trips we went on. He's so kind-hearted and dedicated to his job, to our small group of 8 people 24/7 with such personal care for each one of us. He goes way over and beyond his duties to give us as much cultural experience as possible by offering optional activities in our free time such as leisure walk around our hotel in Puno, a bon fire with roasting marshmallows and music before dinner in Colca, a folklore dancing show with dinner in Puno, tasting different kinds of breads along our drives, a market tour, etc... and much more. Our journey was extra special because of Pavel. He was so excited to show us Cuzco, his beautiful hometown, and we had a wonderful 3 nights there. Thanks to our main driver, Irving, for his incredible driving skills and navigating us through a couple of transportation strikes without a hitch. Thank you Maria, Jose, and David for your local expertise in Lima, Ariquipa, and Puno. Thank you again for a memorable journey, one that we will never forget and looking forward to our next trips with Gate1.

I recently completed 10 days in Peru with Alejandro as the tour manager. I traveled alone for my 30th birthday celebration and Alejandro, all assistant tour guides, all day tour guides, and all drivers made my experience safe, comfortable, fun and one I will not soon forget. The experience was so beautiful I feel compelled to share with Gate 1 how lovely the staff was. Alejandro, Elisa, Alberto, Broz, Pepe (driver), Dante (driver), the family that hosted dinner - all deserve recognition on their phenomenal assistance. Thank you!

Henry, our tour manager is beyond excellent!!! Such a nice person that made sure we are safe and always taken cared off. This is our first time travelling with Gate1 and because of Henry this will not be the last. The only problem is that he did set a very high standard to our next tour manager, we hope he/she will be like Henry. Gate 1 is so lucky to have an employee like him to represent Gate1.

Returning home from Peru with Edgard and wanted to tell all how amazing and wonderful he was! Edgard is so knowledgeable about Peru and history, exceedingly patient and helpful. I've had 15 Gate 1 trips and Edgard rates at very top of Tour Managers I've experienced. He worked long days and nights to ensure our time and trip was extremely exceptional in every way!!

I would like to comment on our local guides. I have always appreciated the way Gate 1 showcases local culture, but I was very impressed with our guide in Peru who was also the local guide in Cuzco. His passion for his culture, sustainable tourism and conservation in general was palpable, and it gave the tour a personal touch. Thank you Julio! Also, our driver Cesar was excellent. Bus drivers have an important job in keeping travelers safe and I have GREAT respect for what they do. When you get to experience their individual personalities, it's even better! Cesar offered hand sanitizer every time we reentered the bus which I think contributed to not one person getting sick (except for a bit of altitude issues). I think it's the first time we traveled with a group where not one person shared a virus!

Mauricio was an outstanding tour manager. He went above and beyond to take care of the team. He was selfless with his knowledge and history of Peru. He was present and attentive to all our needs and concerns. Wonderful experience because of Mauricio!!

We have experienced some exceptional tour managers on previous Gate 1 tours. However, none can compare with the service provided by Pável on our Perú tour. His attention to detail was astounding, potential problems were anticipated and taken care of, nothing was too much trouble, everything was explained clearly, urgent situations were dealt with immediately, seamlessly, and with care and sensitivity to the individual concerned. All this was done with kindness and humor. His knowledge of Peru, its geography, history, and current affairs was exemplary, and provided vital insight into the country, its landscape, and people. Consequently, we loved all aspects of Peru, and the trip was a spectacular success.

I strongly suggest adding Reuben to the Gate 1 Team with greater responsibility. Juan could be a Regional Director. The Bolivian Guide David was very good.. Our experience in Buenos Aires was also 5 Stars excellent. Tour Director Pablo, similar to the Peru team, outstanding and best in class. This was our first Gate 1 journey. We have traveled with many other tour companies and based on this experience, see no reason to go with anyone but Gate 1.

It was a great vacation. Juan, our tour manager, was fantastic, very knowledgeable and excited to share his country with us. Ruben, our local guide, was knowledgeable and a very thorough and thoughtful guide. Giovanna was a great tour manager as well. All of our Gate 1 trips were fabulous, and we would recommend Gate 1 to everyone!

I recently returned from a Discovery tour of Peru. I can not say enough about every Gate 1 employee I met on this trip, especially Victor. Victor went above & beyond expectations in every way every day. His special touches made this trip even more memorable, like assuring all our rooms faced Lake Titicaca so we could see the sunrise over the lake from our rooms & bringing grass so we could feed the llamas & alpacas. He scheduled rest stops at interesting places that had more than just toilets (shops or amazing views), kept us interested with history & Peruvian tales & showed us movies that pertained to what we were to see or do. All of our city guides were wonderful, Mauricio, Renzo, David & Richard, bringing their own unique perspective on where we visited. I can not say enough about Victor. We had several medical issues with a few guests which he handled professionally & safely. He treated us like family making sure everyone was included in our activities to their ability. He is truly an asset to your company. Also, Richard will make a fantastic tour manager because he has learned from the best! Also, I'd like to mention the best bus driver on the planet, Julio, who drove our big bus thru those mountain roads like he was driving a tuk tuk!

My wife and I just finished the 10 day classic Peru trip with 5 friends that all became interested in joining us to explore Peru. We were very satisfied with the itinerary and the optional tours. Every day was packed with something spectacular to see and do. Our tour manager Roger and assistant Henry were both 5 star guides. They were extremely knowledgeable, organized, kept their cool even during difficult situations outside of their control and FUN! Machu Pichu was spectacular as expected, but there was so much more to the trip! This was our 8th gate1 tour and we'll be back with you soon.

This was an amazing trip and the TG, his assistant TG and the bus drivers were all perfect. Fredy was so knowledgeable and any questions we had were answered right away. Every recommendation was on point, from restaurants to shopping. Any suggestion he had, I took and it was exactly what I was looking for. Fredy made sure we were comfortable and was always asking if we needed anything. The assistant TG was equally as good. He made sure we had everything we needed. The bus drivers were great drivers and had our luggage in each place promptly. The TM and assistant TM brought snacks on days where we did not have time to stop and it was so good. I appreciated that we never went hungry or thirsty. This was my 5th Gate 1 trip and only solidifies why I will always be a customer. It was the little things they did that made the trip extra special.

I would like to thank Gate 1 and Discovery Tours for the amazing experience we had on the 14 Day Peruvian Legends Tour. The itinerary was excellent and we especially appreciated the opportunities for cultural connections. The hotels and included meals were top notch. But what really made the tour exceptional was the Gate 1 staff. Our tour manager, Victor has excellent communication skills and made our group feel like a family. On my way recent trip to Peru the tour manager Jimmy was the most pleasant most knowledgeable most accommodating ever. It was my 25th trip with Gate 1 Travel and he was by far the best. I think my best comment would be he was extremely proud of his country and his heritage and added a lot of richness to the trip. He went out of his way to make our experience great he explained things and wonderful detail and always try to enrich our understanding and experiences as well as our fun. The best I've had in over 10 years.

We returned yesterday from a most fantastic trip! What made it so fabulous and fun was our Tour Manager, Jean. He went above and beyond to share his vast knowledge while making sure everyone had what they needed and knew what to do and when to do it. His personality was amazing! We all had the best time being with him.

Most amazing trip and this was my 9th Gate 1trip, driver was amazing in those narrow streets and always had water and hand sanitizer ready and bus was clean, local guides were knowledgeable and interesting, tour manager Elvis showed his loved for Peru and kept harmony and in the group and kept us safe and informed. I lost my passport coming back from Machu Pichu and staff located it and arranged for the return that night which is amazing and is main reason I use gate 1 because I know they look out our health and safety. I am still amazed at what I saw and how I was taken care of for 14 days, well done!!!

I loved my trip to Peru! The hotels were well located and the meals were delicious. Fredy is the best and sweetest tour manager!! Everything was always organized, communicated easily and made fun with so many surprises. I am happy to be part of his "family". Ruben was also so great! He was such a phenomenal resource guide and organizer! I am so glad that Fredy and Ruben were with us at Machu Picchu as well - an amazing experience with great caretakers. The two of them along with our safe driver, Livia, truly made the trip one-of-a-kind. For as much travel and logistics that were involved, it was easygoing and I feel as if I now have friends in Peru.

Our journey through Ecuador and Peru was truly transformative, thanks in large part to our extraordinary guides, Wilson and Ronald. Both brought exceptional knowledge of their country's history, geography, and biodiversity, along with a deep, personal understanding of the indigenous cultures that shaped these lands. Their firsthand experiences growing up within these traditions allowed them to share not just information, but living stories-giving our group a rare and meaningful glimpse into the beliefs, customs, and spiritual heritage of the indigenous communities. Beyond their remarkable expertise, what set Wilson and Ronald apart was their genuine care and dedication to the well-being of every traveler.

It was amazing! Jimmy was amazing, amazing, amazing tour, guide, and director. He went above and beyond for our whole group! It was so knowledgeable about the area and took such great care of us. Some people had altitude sickness, and he made sure that they were all taken care of. Peru is a beautiful country and we really enjoyed it! I believe that was either my seventh or eighth Gate 1 tour and I will be doing more with your company.

Had a wonderful trip to Peru primarily due to our Gate 1 Tour Guide Abel. Abel has a deep knowledge of Peruvian History. He was caring & personable. Each day he took time to talk with everyone and ensure we were pleased, immediately reacted to any concerns. Abel exceeded my expectations by flawlessly handling each and every detail during my visit to Peru.

Recently finished a trip to Peru and Amazon. Gate 1 tour manager Mauricio was fantastic! He anticipated the group's every need and made the high energy, activity filled itinerary seamless. All the behind the travel details taken care of without us seeing the difference. Language and cultural discrepancies managed seamlessly. Mauricio presented himself as an honest man representing his country and sharing its beauty with enthusiasm and honesty. A fabulous tour.

Just want to add my wife and I Gate 1 experience was exceptional. This in part was made by many things that Gate 1 anticipated and made it much less stressful when travelling for over 18 days. We enjoyed that the staff took care in helping, leading and directing guests. But overall, our satisfaction with the trip was elevated to a 10 by tour managers, Marina and Jimmy, who made the group come together like a family. They are so knowledgeable which made the tours so enjoyable. That is what I wanted, the history of the sites. They are so helpful in listening to all who has questions or problems. Their handling of tours, flights and coach rides are amazing. They are funny and just made each day with them so enjoyable. Overall, my wife and I are impressed with the tour we just went on and probably will join more Gate 1 tours in the future.

The 12 Day Kaleidoscope of Peru was our 8th tour with Gate 1. The tour managers on all our trips have been excellent and one of the reasons we travel with Gate 1. Our tour manager for Peru was Pavel. He is by far the best of all managers we have been with. I hope Gate 1 realizes what a fantastic manager Pavel is. I cannot think of all the superlatives that would describe Pavel and our tour of Peru.

While I scored the maximum rating for our tour manager, the survey did not give me the opportunity to express how impressed my wife and I were regarding our tour manager, Edgar. Edgar's in-depth knowledge of history about not only Perú, but much of South America, was immeasurable. Not only ancient and modern history, but also culture and politics. Never have we had a guide in all the trips we have done over the years, that has left us with such a lasting impression. Finally. Edgar's constant care and wellbeing for his tour group were much appreciated.

We had a fabulous trip to Peru. We took the 7-Day Peru & Machu Picchu with Dimas as our tour manager. Dimas always reminded us of the altitude issues, best places to eat and shop. He did a very good job of keeping the schedule to the dot, at times even earlier. It was an enjoyable trip. Machu Picchu was more than our expectations. Noteworthy is Joel, Dimas' Cusco helper. Very kind, considerate and knowledgable of his hometown. They both took good care of the 28 people in the group. We were sad to leave when the trip ended. Thank you Gate 1 for giving us Dimas and Joel who made our trip more memorable and safe.

The trip to Peru was challenging but really informative. Learned how different the Peruvian culture is to many of the other countries I have visited. Of course our tour director Americo was excellent and explained in depth the Incan and other Peruvian cultures, government and daily lives and customs. So happy I went and enjoyed the wonderous sights.

My trip to Peru was life changing! It all started with having an AMAZING Tour Guide - Mauricio. Mauricio's passion for all things Peru was palpable. He has a great personality which makes everyday fun and entertaining. His attention to detail and organized manner always made me feel safe and he left nothing to chance. I learned so much about Peru from Mauricio but felt a spiritual connection that I never expected. Our Guides - Frankie in Lima and Elseo in Puno were also incredibly knowledgeable and wonderful. Our bus driver Justino navigated twisting, narrow roads and was an excellent driver. Jason, our tour assistant in Cusco, was very pleasant and helpful as well. Peru is an incredible country! Machu Picchu was a highlight of my trip but I also enjoyed the Cusco Market, Victor the Shaman, the floating Uros Islands, The Museo Larco and the Gold Museum, the Moray Agriculture Center and the Weavers in Chinchero. I highly recommend this trip!

Our trip was spectacular and was the best trip we have had in all of our travels. The reason for this was not only the adventure, beautiful scenery and the peace of mind we had. one main reason for why we feel this way was due to our Tour Manager, Parvel. He is knowledgeable, caring and was always there when we needed him. He took excellent care of each and everyone in our group especially with the high altitude challenges experienced by several of our tour friends. He handled all of our travel needs with personal attention and we didn't have to worry about anything. He was honest, sincere and had a good sense of humor. He shared his family history with us which made us feel he was more than a professional tour guide. With his caring and kind heart we became an extension of his family. This trip wouldn't have been as memorable if not for Parvel. In addition we had great local guides including Alexis and Marisio. We could not say more about how safe we felt traveling with Parvel. All of the Gate 1 staff were excellent.

I would just like to reiterate what a wonderful adventure this trip was for my husband and me. The itinerary was all that we could hope for. Our tour guide, Alex, went above and beyond, which is one reason this trip was so outstanding. With the challenges we faced regarding altitude and weather, he made sure everyone felt safe and comfortable. He was so knowledgeable of all the background and history of the sites we visited. His warm and accepting personality, helped to form the cohesiveness of the group, more so than other tour groups my husband and I had been a part of. He took everything one step further, offering assistance as we traveled onward, beyond the tour group. If we do another Gate 1 Tour within South America, I will definitely look for one guided by him.

I would like to say a few words about our tour manager, Gary. To be perfectly honest, I don't think I could say enough good about him, and I consider our group to have been incredibly blessed to have been the recipient of his services throughout this tour! First of all, this man has an obvious passion to share everything about his country and culture from his heart, even on a very personal level. He is clearly proud of his heritage and the historical and cultural richness of his country, and he exemplifies all that is good about it. While being ever-mindful of his shepherding responsibilities for the safety and well-being of each group member at all times, he was truly both compassionate and caring, even in the small details. For example, he went out of his way to surprise another group member and me in celebrating our birthday (both on the same day) with decorative cakes in conjunction with a dinner at a restaurant, and got the Andean singers performing there to sing a special "Happy Birthday" to us! He ensured that each of us received a daily wake-up call. He provided appropriate and relevant tips and warnings to ensure that we got the most out of our experience and enjoyed our time to the fullest by knowing how to proceed cautiously. Moreover, he was absolutely skillful in employing innovative ways to get the group family to bond early and maintain that closeness with each other throughout the tour. His thorough explanations of cultural points helped add much-needed insights into our overall learning experience. Indeed, he represents the very best that Gate 1 Travel has to offer!

My trip was excellent! Paul and the local guides were wonderful and we had a fantastic time in Peru!

Tour Manager was excellent. Elvis showed a love for his country, extensive knowledge of its history and great compassion for the needs of the group. The local guides were all knowledgeable and personable. The real test was on our return to Lima from Arequipa. Latam Airlines cancelled 5 different flights to Lima leaving almost all of the group needing to change reservations for return to home. Elvis spent many hours coordinating changes in flight schedules to get us back to Lima. Once in Lima flights were late arriving and required more schedule changes. Elvis spent more hours working to get many of us home. This is certainly not the fault of Gate 1, it is comforting to know the extent that Gate 1 employees will take to ensure the safety and needs of clients. Elvis stayed with us through the night at Lima airport coordinating flights and dealing with airline. While it was not the perfect ending to our trip, it is comforting to know the efforts that Gate 1 and its tour directors will take to ensure our safety and comfort in a foreign land. This was our 6th Gate1 tour and the first with this type of issue. Elvis went above and beyond to make sure that we were cared for during trying times. Many thanks to Elvis and the entire Gate 1 team for turning a potential nightmare into a minor inconvenience. The tour was great even if the ending was a little rocky.
