Our trip was fantastic. We saw so much of Ireland and learned a great deal all the while having fun. We gained true insight into the history, enjoyed the culture, saw the beautiful countryside and churches, and listened to poetry. Our tour manager/guide, Khristiene, provided wonderful readings, poems, music and stories while on the bus, handed out treats, and despite long days maintained a high level of enthusiasm and playfulness. She had us laughing and crying with her tales, and stories. Khristiene is an extremely competent tour manager and an expert on all things Ireland. I don't know if I am to share this part, but will risk it. Khristiene knew a sheep farmer and took us to his farm as it was near one of our destinations. We saw a dog working the sheep and each held a day old lamb! It should be added to every tour-quite a trip highlight. Khristiene should get a travel manager Oscar, win a Mrs. Congeniality contest and get kudos from Gate 1. It was my husband's and my second time on Gate 1 and the trip was again over the top. My cruise-traveler daughter is saying that she wants to travel again with Gate 1. This is partly because of the wonderful itinerary, accommodations and food but most especially because of our guide-Khristiene. I cannot say enough, so I will not say more. It was fantastic. Woohoo!

I would just like to say what a great time my wife and I had on this tour. The scenery was beautiful and the towns were very interesting to explore. My grandparents were from Slovenia, so seeing this area was very meaningful. All of the local guides were very good and entertaining. The only suggestion I would have is to spend a night in Ljubljana. The time there was too short to see everything the town has to offer. All of your tour managers are very knowledgeable, great with people, very helpful, and want everyone to have a great time. But Jelena was far above any other tour manager we have ever had. It is very obvious the she has a great time doing these tours and that energy really spreads to everyone in the group. She really cares about everyone and wants to do everything she can to make it the best tour they ever had. She also spent far more free time with us than any other manager. She would let us know when she was going into town so that we could have a drink before dinner and then would show us places to eat. This was great because it gave us additional time to learn more about the countries. She was also always providing us with produce grown in the area, food made in the areas, and local drinks to keep us hydrated. The thing that I enjoyed the most was the humor she brought to the tour. She told the serious side to the culture but then also included the humorous side. But then as I said before, her joyful personality really made the tour special. Jelena is truly a great tour manager but also a great representative for Gate 1.

I just completed the Jewels of the Alpine trip and it was wonderful. What made the trip so wonderful was our tour guide Nadine. She is excellent. Energetic, caring and compassionate, knowledgeable and professional. We have traveled more than 20 trip with Gate 1 and we had always had excellent guide but Nadine is there on the top of the list. We are so impressed with your company we never hesitate to tell people about you and we know some who have taken our advice and done a trip with you. I am 85 so our land tours are cutting down, even though we have two scheduled for next year, but we cruise a lot more. I always have Gate 1 trips available on my phone to show people where you go and how inexpensive they are. Thank you, thank you, thank you.

I just wanted to let you know that I had a great time on my last travels with Gate 1. I have been using your company since 2018 and always highly recommend it to my co-workers and family and friends! I just loved Luxemburg, it was beautiful and needed more time there, I would love to go back. I loved France, Obernia and the little town that we visited. What a beautiful place and diffidently need to go back there. My other favorite place was Heidelburg, needed more time there as well. I would love to go back to those places and have Peter as my guide. He was responsive to everyone's needs, and helped anyone that needed it right away. He took care of us and made sure we had everything we needed. He made fun at the cities with added games for everyone to play. He was always upbeat and would love to travel with some of the people that I met and have Peter as our guide. Thank you for having great tour guides, it makes a world of difference and wanting to come back to Gate 1 for all my travels!!

The trip was more than I anticipated. Elvis, our tour guide, was exceptional and shared so much history and his local knowledge. I would highly recommend this trip.

We just got back this weekend from our 2nd small discovery tour & our 3rd gate1 escorted travel tour. Among the 3 escorted gate1 travel tour, I would say this is so far "the Best of the Best tour", we've ever experienced so far traveling with gate1 travel. Our tour manager and bus safety driver, Beatrice and Marionne respectively, were an unbeatable combination in our overall travel safety and group travel tour efficiency. All of us in the group of 22 diverse travelers were in sync & respectful in our departure & arrival times. Everything went very well and we are very pleased with Beatrice's wealth of knowledge about Switzerland's culture and diversity. All her food and dining recommendations during our leisure time on our own were spot on, especially with regards to Laderach Swiss chocolates. We wanted to keep on travelling with Beatrice & Marionne as our tour manager & travel driver partner in all our future gate1 escorted travels from now on. We have recommended Gate1 escorted travels even before to many of our friends. And sincerely, we will continue to do so, adding Beatrice & Marionne's names as highly recommended travel partners to all our friends future escorted travel plans. My wife & I are planning our 2024 vacay. As a matter of fact, we don't mind going back to Switzerland again with gate1 travels.

The trip from Portugal to Spain was terrific from start to finish. The hotels were great, the locales were amazing and the local guides were very knowledgeable. Most importantly, our tour manager, Carla, was professional, incredibly knowledgeable, empathetic, and a perfect addition to our trip. Thank you. We are looking forward to our next great adventure!

The Swiss Alpine Jewels tour was 12 days of spectacular natural beauty. Everywhere we went, everywhere we looked we saw gorgeous views before us! We cannot stop talking about the joy it gave us to be there with the like-minded people who were in our group. In addition to the incredible beauty of the country, we enjoyed the company of an excellent driver named Deiter and an exceptional tour manager Serge. Serge and Deiter were a wonderful team that took care of us like we were their family. Serge, a resident of Salzburg, Austria, was filled with knowledge of and love for Switzerland which he imparted to us in a way that made us love Switzerland even more. In addition to his great knowledge of Switzerland and Europe, he shared his wisdom in a wonderfully subtle way that always kept us smiling. I could go on, but let me end by saying that of the eight Gate1 trips we have done since we started traveling with Gate 1 in 2019, the Swiss Alpine Jewels is the most magnificent!

Our trip was OUTSTANDING, due in no small part to Tour Manager Simeon. He was absolutely perfect in every aspect of the trip. His background information on what we were to see, insights into French history, culture, and cuisine were all 5-star. Plus, his willingness to help travelers in every detail and thorough answers to every question was superb! Yes, the tour itself...sites, cities, chateaux, Normandy, food, all excellent. But, what makes my wife and I wanting more of Gate 1, is...Simeon.

I just returned from the Discovery Tour "14 Day Dalmatian Isles, Croatia & Slovenia". It was fabulous!! Jelena was probably the best tour manager I've ever had on any tour. Her kindness, knowledge of the area of our tour and management ability were excellent. It was a joy to have her guiding us on our journey. What a great trip!

I would like to acknowledge our tour manager Giuseppe on our Discover Sicily and Malta Tour. He was very professional, knowledgeable and very personable. His attention to detail was excellent. He was very organized and took care of the group wonderfully. I would like to thank Giuseppe for providing us with a great tour. We had a wonderful time in Sicily and Malta and hope to return one day.

As usual with Gate 1 trips overall that we have participated in over the past years, our trip to Switzerland under the subject reservation was GREAT and the tour guide and bus driver both did a superb job to make sure all was safe and that all ran as smooth as possible as we moved through our tour activities day to day!! Thanks again for a wonderful experience to the World of travel.. We saw and learned so, so much.. This was at least our 6th trip with Gate 1.. The guides used for your trips are very well trained and knowledgeable on details. Our guide on this trip did a great job to lead the overall group. My mother and I had a fantastic time on the 12 Day Treasures of Provence tour. The itinerary was an exciting cultural mix that was very well paced. The food and wine were delicious. Our tour guide Siméon went above and beyond to make the trip comfortable, informative, and fun. I would not hesitate to recommend this tour to anyone. I've been on many Gate 1 trips and all of the guides have been terrific, but I can truly say Siméon is one of the best!

Maureen our tour manager was excellent. She even managed to acknowledge my 75th birthday, which was the day I was flying home. She seemed to care about all of us and our comfort. Our driver, Patrick, was excellent, not to mention very funny. Maureen and Patrick added to the enjoyment of the trip.

My trip was great, despite the heat. I credit our tour manager, Nikola, who set s joyful tone that carried us through in great style. His upbeat energy and sense of humor, combined with sensitivity to the needs of individuals and of the group, made the experience seamless. I particularly appreciated his sharing his knowledge of the history and culture of the region with us. I travel to learn, after all, not just to be amused. And yet he was great at keeping us entertained as well. His terrific playlist made the bus rides seem short and painless. He went above and beyond, working long hours every day of the tour, to ensure that we all had a great experience.

I am writing to commend tour director extraordinaire Nikola as not only an accomplished professional at his work, but also as a truly wonderful person. Nikola went out of his way every moment of each day to make us guests have the greatest and smoothest experience of beautiful Croatia, Slovenia, and northern Italy: Nikola's deep knowledge of the regions, their history, geopolitics and culture made for a phenomenally instructive two weeks. Nikola provided many treats along the routes. Nikola also took time from his personal off-the-clock time to show us additional sights, take us off beaten paths, and recommend activities and restaurants so that we could make the very most of each locality. Nikola possesses stellar interpersonal skills, which was evident in the fact that he was always alert to every group member's needs and went well above the call of duty to maximize everyone's happiness. Nikola is also a lot of fun, which bonded our group and had everyone enjoy the trip beyond our expectations. Thank you to Gate 1 for organizing such outstanding travels: I look forward to going on many more adventures with your company, and I now recommend Gate1Travel to my family and to all my friends around the world. The tour was wonderful. The Tour Guide and bus drivers were fabulous. The scenery was fantastic; the hotels were very nice. The tour guide was very knowledgeable of the history of Ireland; and was also able to manage every day from the various stops, the food. We were also on time every day to each tourist area.

This was my 1st group tour. Dennis was an amazing tour manager. He was so well organized, it made the trip easy. He got us to places on time and in front of the crowds, which I really appreciated. He gave us great advice of things to do on our own or places to eat. Dennis is really and funny and kept us very engaged with humor and insight into our destinations. His shoes will be hard to fill for any tour manager I encounter in the future.

My trip was the BEST! Switzerland has such natural beauty you can't help but love it. But what enhanced the trip was Dennis. He is one of the best tour guides I've ever had. Organized, knowledgeable, witty, informational, entertaining, helpful, safety first mentality, he goes way above and beyond what's expected of him. And an all around nice guy. I've been traveling around the world since I was 19. Eventually worked for the airlines and am a constant traveler. I say this not to brag but to make a point that I have experienced the gambit of fantastic trips to not good trips. This was one of the top trips I've taken. The itinerary was fabulous ( don't change a thing!) hotel's lovely, meals delicious and again Dennis made it all the more special. Can't speak highly enough about him. He's an Alpine Jewel. I love Gate1. This might have been my 10th Gate1 and I keep referring others to your company because you do it right. More of the world for less.

We had a wonderful time during our trip in south of France with Ian our tour director!!! He welcome us in Paris and made us feel like he was escorting his personal friends through Provence. He was so knowledgeable and had a great sense of humor so our small group of seven people felt like being a family. We were entertained! We had a lot of fun! I would highly recommend him! Also the whether, the hotels and the itinerary were absolutely perfect. Thanks Gate 1!!!

My husband's dream since he was a boy was to see the Matterhorn. His dream finally came true during our Switzerland Tour with Gate 1. Neither of us can put into mere words how fabulous this tour was. The cities, villages, hotels, food, the vistas and landscape were beyond what we had hoped for. This tour, and our tour guide Siobhan (pronounced Sha-vonne), exceeded our expectations and then some. I highly recommend anyone looking to do this tour watch the video of this tour on the Gate 1 site. It does a much better job than I could with the tour description. Our highlights of the trip were: #1 the Matterhorn, #2 Trummelbach Falls, #3 the Gornergrat Mountains. Every day was an exciting adventure. Siobhan not only showed us those items on our itinerary but also had many extra surprises to share with us as well. These are called the SSS's, for "Siobhan's Special Surprises". At almost every turn in the road, or street corner we passed, Siobhan had history or information to share. Not only was she a wealth of information but she has a great sense of humor too. She is a very caring person whose goal was to be sure each and every one of us had a fantastic experience. Siobhan took time to get to know each of us. She was always available for any questions we might have or issue that arose which she promptly resolved. A tour can be just a tour, or it can be an experience of a lifetime. I sincerely believe a knowledgeable, well prepared and caring tour manager can make all the difference. Another important person to be mentioned is our tour bus driver, Josep (no h). He made sure we traveled in a clean, comfortable bus. His excellent driving skills in many tight spots, often brought rounds of applause. This was our 2nd tour using Gate 1 Travel, but it won't be the last. We are already looking at other tours with them too. Some of our tour companions have done multiple Gate 1 tours, as well as a number of our friends, and they all swear by the quality and value offered.

I feel the need to let you know how absolutely thrilled we were with this, our first ever, Gate 1 tour experience. We began with a small group tour and we are not sure we will ever be able to choose anything but that in the future. We lucked out with the 13 people on our particular tour (Irish Culture) and the group gelled unbelievably well. We have even communicated a bit since the end of our trip. We all agreed that none of us could imagine a better tour guide than Sheila and feel so fortunate to have had her with us. She is extremely knowledgeable and so much fun! Sheila took care of us like we were her children! She was quick to offer suggestions for places to visit, dine, and/or shop in our "free" time. If we had a question, curiosity, or need...Sheila was on it! She could tell our group really began to embrace our time together and attempted to foster that by sometimes not interrupting our lively conversations, BUT we loved ALL she had to share, so we quickly told her we wanted her to interrupt us! We also loved our driver, Arvydas, and enjoyed the dynamic between the two of them as a team. We felt quite safe with Arvydas and his "master steerology" (another Sheila-ism). We loved all of the accommodations and most every tour activity. We ate delicious food and experienced warm hospitality. My husband and I had not yet been to Europe and therefore had a tad bit of pre-travel angst. However, we saw there was no need for this, as Gate 1 had everything so well planned and handled. Thank you again for a most memorable experience. We look forward to traveling with you in the future.

I just wanted to write to let you know that my recent Discovery trip to Ireland was amazing! We had such a great time and our guide, Matthew was excellent! Not only was he knowledgeable, informative, thoughtful and funny but he had prepared lots of extra surprises for our group throughout the trip. He arranged an impromptu hurling demonstration, and stops at beautiful Inch Beach, all along the Wild Atlantic Way and at a random county sign for one of the folks whose family is from the area. He also provided local snacks, played music related to each region and told stories along the way. He went out of his way to make the trip enjoyable and memorable!

I would like to expand on my recent survey and say our tour guide Just was over-the-top great. We've always had VERY good guides but he was kind of special. I appreciated how he always made sure we were looked after, safe and sound, whether it was navigating public transportation or crossing a busy street! His friendly demeanor kept up a great vibe with our group. Everyone seemed to be having an excellent time throughout the trip, very much due to his leadership and personality. He always had great recommendations for food/restaurants. What I loved the most was his effort to always make sure our time in any one place surpassed expectations. It's actually some of those times that I think back on most fondly.

Our Discovery trip to Sicily-Malta was an exceptional experience in large part due to our Tour Manager Sergio. He is a true asset for Gate1 with his thorough knowledge, enthusiasm and fantastic sense of humor which he brought to our Tour Group. The sites we visited offered terrific insight into to the history, culture and food of this region. All the local Tour Guides were very knowledgeable and because of the small size of our group, were able to see and experience points of interest that would not be practical with a larger Tour group. Franco, our Tour Bus Driver, was very attentive and excelled at navigating the many narrow streets and roads around Sicily. This was our 12th trip with Gate1 and first Discovery Tour and it exceeded all our expectations such that we'll be definitely looking into taking more Discovery Tours in the future.

My husband and I had a very memorable trip! It was like three vacations in one. First, Croatia and Montenegro along the beautiful Adriatic Coastline. The culture, history, food, and the people made the beautiful environment even more spectacular! Then Slovenia, mountains, clear waters, and birds singing all day was such surprise to us. It allowed us a breather between all the traveling in Croatia and the excitement of Venice, where we stayed an extra two days. That was well worth it! I know Gate1Travel cannot have any control on the weather but if you did, you were exemplary! We never had 16 days of the BEST weather ever!!! 70-80 clear skies, not one cloud and no humidity! We were so lucky. Our local guides were unbelievable and the best we could imagine. Everyone enlightened us and had such a spirited personality and lived and grew up in the location we visited. In Dubrovnik our guide showed us old pictures of her family on the street we were looking at. She explained how as a child she hid in the school during bombings but played nevertheless like a child would. Our guide Jon was from Slovenia and was very organized and kept all of us on schedule and was a support to all of us. He was funny in a very different way. He explained the Slovenian way, even if everything is fantastic on a tour, a Slovenian would say, "Not bad", but to the USA vacationers it would be "Excellent!" We went on this tour to join past friends we met in Southwest Asia on a Signature Gate1Travel tour which was THE BEST TOUR EVER! This tour was great too. Thank You as always for great memories. This was our 8th tour with Gate1 and still no regrets. We are going next to Japan! Keep doing what you are doing!

This was our first trip with Gate 1. We are elated! I meant to write to Gate 1, anyway, to praise the experience and convey our appreciation of our guide and driver, Sheila and Martin, resp. Sheila is tireless, absolutely organized, keeping us on-schedule and motivated. Her extensive knowledge of history, life experiences, and humor made for educating, entertaining, perceptive commentary. We did not expect to fill our days, everyday, so well. As I wrote to a friend during the trip: "you know you're having a great time when you think it's already Friday, but it's only Wednesday." Sheila is a treasure. Martin, too, a stalwart purveyor of safety, impeccable driving skill and the occasional display of dry wit. He kept the coach spotless. The duo made the days spent together more special for us. We enjoyed the itinerary, the lack of blatantly 'touristy' stops (we were warned off the Blarney stone by friends) and the emphasis on history. Or experiences. Of note are the stops at the museum in Foynes, the raptor ranch and the sheep dog demonstration... outstanding! Unlike other vendors, we were never pushed into sites solely to offer shopping opportunities. We didn't go to Ireland to shop. The only place we would have liked to venture to that wasn't on the list was the Giant's Causeway; we enjoy natural wonders more than man-made. The selection of hotels was unexpected in the best of ways: all are very high grade with large, spotless, comfortable rooms and above average dining; well beyond our experiences in much of Europe on other tours. I could go on but it's better to simply acknowledge that we are very impressed with Gate 1 and are planning to avail ourselves of your services in the future. Again, our gratitude to our most excellent guide, Sheila: we left loving her and, because of her, Ireland.

We loved our trip!! This was our second Gate 1 travel adventure and your company REALLY does an excellent job selecting your tour managers! My husband and I are not 'adventurous' travelers - so we appreciate taking a vacation abroad that is guided by folks familiar with the country. Giuliana was such a pleasure-we felt so cared for the entire time! She was really managing several difficult 'situations' during the trip but it was clear that she always had both our safety as well as our trip enjoyment as her priorities. Francesco our tour bus driver was also super safe as well as kind. Both my husband and myself have food sensitivities and Giuliana ALWAYS made sure that those issues were attended to-while still allowing us to experience Italian foods in an enjoyable way. Lastly, the tour itinerary was perfect. Just enough driving between locations and time spent in the various regions to get a flavor of the areas. Stacy- our booking agent was great too! Always helpful, had answers to all our questions, made changes for us when decided to extend our trip a few days to see Venice, and let us know up front that there was LOTS of walking (she was right- we loved it though - it helped us work off all the extra food calories!). We will definitely be continuing to use Gate 1 for our big trips- thanks again!!!

I want to express my sincere gratitude for the perfectly organized trip, for the professional choice of comfortable hotels, historical places to visit, and for the excellent selection of the curator and local guides. They shared knowledge and love for their native places. I especially want to mention Miroslava. An amazingly charming, highly educated, friendly, caring woman guide, assistant, adviser, and just a friend. The smile did not leave her face from the first to the last day of our arrival, which caused great sympathy. With her help, crossing many borders was painlessly fast, the food, in the small roadside coffees she chose, was exceptionally tasty and the service was prompt. This is a great merit and experience of the guide. The information she shared with us was competent, accessible, and highly professional. The solution to the problems of tourists was instant, competent for 24/7 hours, and all this in a great mood. The bus driver was just an ace and showed his skills on high mountain roads, as well as in cities crowded with vehicles and crazy drivers A trip to the Balkans will be remembered for a lifetime thanks to your excellent work and constant care for us

This Sicily/Malta tour from Oct 12-Oct 24, 2022 was our first with Gate 1 and was led by Francesco. Our driver was Giovanni. Giovanni was amazingly skilled and experienced at driving and navigating our 40 passenger bus through narrow streets, winding turns, and hairpin curves. Giovanni scheduled a few ideal scenic photo ops including Modica and identified Mt. Etna in the distance. The tour group felt extremely comfortable through the entire tour duration from stop to stop. Our tour director, Francesco Fedeli was experienced, dedicated, knowledgeable, well organized, friendly, accommodating, gracious, helpful, informative, engaging, superb sense of humor, adept at cultural information exchange, and inquisitive about the American culture. He diligently worked and was thoroughly prepared for each day, anticipating any risks along the way. All work he completed behind the scenes was transparent to tourists. He freely shared his knowledge of reputable restaurants, ATM's, and pharmacy's in each locale we stayed at which enhanced our comfort and travel experience. Francesco informed us of myths, legends, and history preparing the way for an immersive experience in each area visited. Throughout the tour, Francesco demonstrated his caring, compassionate, and intuitiveness predicting the needs of his customers (now friends). Of particular note, Francesco averted what would have been a major negative impact to our tour as he identified an air travel risk, a possible airline strike going to Malta, and collaborated with Gate1 management to mitigate the impending risk. It did happen and there was zero effect on the tour experience. Gate1 was extremely supportive in rescheduling an earlier flight, prior to the strike window, and modified associated hotel accommodations in both Sicily and Malta. A heroic effort benefitting Gate 1 and virtually transparent to the customer! We thoroughly enjoyed his leadership, his companionship, and his guidance throughout the tour. Thank you Francesco!

Fabulous. The only downside is the flight to and from our vacation and you had nothing to do with that. We had a small group. Only 14 of us. Everyone was just as invested as we were in our vacation. Everyone got along and our tour manager was the best. Robby was so good. Can't think of any negative. I liked his humor. I like that we had individual tour guides for some of the venues we went to. They seemed to be experts in their field. I got so much more out of the Louvre and Versailles with our tour guide. We feel like we really got our money's worth for this trip. It was a trip we had wanted to do for a long time. It was well worth it. France exceeded our expectations.

Fabulous. A truly memorable trip, full of wonderful sights, new friends whom we hope to travel with again, interesting historical information. All in all, GREAT. Surmounted by Pieter our manager, who was so informative, educational, friendly and humorous. Then there was our driver Zlecko, who safely took us on our journey, through some seemingly perilous curvy roads. If we could travel with them again we would. Looking forward to our next rip with Gate 1.

Our trip was amazing. And Switzerland was beautiful. We appreciated the stays at Wengen and Zermatt areas. Loved small group of 18. Marija was an excellent tour manager with her local knowledge, her caring attitude, and her quick-to-resolve skill that brought happy results to a few of our adventurous "mission impossible" occasions. Along with our driver, Peter, they both went above and beyond expectations, to ensure we had wonderful experiences. Thank you.

Our trip to Paris and Provence was amazing. You go to Paris to fall in love, and we did. Craig was amazing, he opened our eyes and hearts to the love and joy that is France. His knowledge of the art and history was so informative. I could recommend this trip to anyone and hope they get Craig.

This was my first Gate one experience and I can't say enough wonderful things about our Tour Guide Maureen she went above and beyond to see that every one of us (21) in all were happy and are days were fulfilled with the knowledge and the tastes and sites of Ireland! I want you to know that our trip was wonderful and the reason it was wonderful was because of our tour manager whose name was Pero. Not who you said in this evaluation. He made the tour wonderful. He was on top of everything and always considerate of us. Please give him the credit that is due because the 11 of us had a fantastic, cohesive, tour because of him. he made this is the best of the five tours we have taken with Gate 1 so far. Plus we do have one scheduled for next September thank you.

Our tour guide in Sicily and Malta was wonderful Antoinette (Tony) was very accommodating. Tony helped us understand some Italian phrases, worried about our safety, picked up on conversations on things our group liked to do like sing and listen to special songs while on the bus. Tony was very good about explaining everything we were going to do, when we would need to dress differently for our tours and paid attention to details that made us more comfortable and ready to tackle each day. Can't say enough about Tony, she makes Gate 1 look great!

We had a wonderful tour with Robby our tour director. The weather couldn't have been better and the itinerary was top notch. We especially were entertained and educated by Nicolas on our Versailles tour. Robby was a lot of fun and ran a tight ship. He would give us a lot of information before we got to our next stop and was very clear in his directions. I would highly recommend him. He really knew his stuff.

Our trip to Sicily and Malta was fantastic in all regards - itinerary, venues, fellow travelers, but most of all tour director Silvia. Her temperament, attention to detail, proactiveness and so many other aspects are without parallel in our experience. She really made a great trip- fabulous.

As always did not disappoint! G1 trip #44 for me and had already visited Romania, Bulgaria and Albania before, but on Majestic Balkans welcomed the chance to revisit them again, experience some new cities and also get to go to North Macedonia which I was very excited about as was my 100th country! Loved the trip - it was very active but we saw so much, some great cities and incredible sights, experienced good food and some excellent hotels - the Grand Hotel in Sofia and the Marriott in Skopje especially wonderful! Our tour manager Patty from Croatia took great care of us and was funny, engaging and very kind with some lovely gifts for the whole group to remember each country. The driver was doing this tour for the first time, but he kept us safe and grew into the role as we progressed on the journey. North Macedonia was fabulous - loved Skopje and Ohrid - absolutely beautiful and completely surprising in a great way! These countries have come a long way since the last time I visited - they are all vibrant, affordable and offer a great travel experience. Our group of 20 was fun and cohesive. Love seeing more of the world for less with G1! Thank you as always!

Returned home from Switzerland on July 20. The trip was fabulous owing primarily to the tour director Dennis. He was extremely organized. Have over 2000 pictures of a beautiful country. Hats off to Gate 1!

Our travel manager and coach driver were excellent! Edo could not have been more knowledgeable, patient, kind, funny and enjoyable to be around. We always felt safe on the roads with our driver and the bus was very comfortable and clean. We are looking forward to our next opportunity to travel with Gate One.

Our discovery tour to foods and wine of northern Italy was fabulous. This was our first discovery tour. Our small group of 15 jelled into a family while participating in food, wine, and spirits sampling. Our guide, Carmine , was ultra professional and looked after our safety and health at all times. He arranged for transportation alternatives when Mother Nature denied us water passage to Portofino because of high winds. He hired a van when he deemed the sidewalk-less road too dangerous to walk to get the post trip Covid tests. He treated us to evening drinks on sunny piazzas in Torino and Bologna. He took care of all the worries of getting us from point A to point B while supplying us with geographic historical and cultural aspects of northern Italy. Invaluable experiences and knowledge were shared by all in the beauty and wonder of northern Italy.

Our trip was great! Miguel was a SUPER guide?! Everyone loved Mario, our bus driver too! Everywhere we went, we were shown museums, sites and most importantly, people that were wonderful! When Miguel asked us what our favorite part of the trip was, we came up with a long list of favorites, including the tapestry museum, the two wine tours, the home cooked meals, the small-town tours, the boat ride and Miguel's infinite knowledge of Portuguese history. We decided it was an unfair question. There was so much that we loved, it was impossible to choose. And having the small group gave us a chance to become friends with people and I believe some of those friendships will continue. Our only 'complaint' was that we ate too much! And drank too much! But the dinners prepared at homes and with cooking lessons were a definite favorite. And, of course, everyone loved the wine tours. We learned a lot about the Portuguese wines. This was our first non-cruise Gate1 tour. You passed the test! We will be looking for other discovery tours to join. Thank you!
