Is This Trip Right for You?
This is an active trip. Our small group covers a lot of ground each day. Expect to spend most of our time driving over roads that are often rough and bumpy in safari vehicles that cannot be air-conditioned. Only "bush toilets" are available during game drives. There are many early mornings. Electricity for the camps is provided by generator and may not be available 24 hours a day. Many of the accommodations are built in the traditional local style and have no air-conditioning. Visitors to Tanzania are required to carry proof of Yellow Fever vaccination if traveling from a country with risk of yellow fever, and are encouraged to consult their health-care providers regarding malaria prophylaxis. We suggest you check with your health-care provider before signing up for this tour. Safari vehicles have high ground clearance and require agility to embark and disembark. During this tour, you may come into proximity of wild animals whose actions can be unpredictable. Certain inherent risks are involved which should be considered at your own discretion. This is a Small Group program. For more information, click here.

I had high hopes & expectations for this trip. I've waited all my adult life to go to Africa & finally, my husband agreed to go. Our expectations were exceeded & this was the best trip of my life. Beautiful scenery, friendly people, amazing animal & bird life - nothing was missing.

This Tanzania safari trip was a wonderful life time experience. We have seen migration of wildebeests and zebras in Serengeti National Park and the sunrise balloon ride and English breakfast was also a wonderful experience. We saw a lot of wildlife in all four national parks. The three tour managers in our group were very nice and helpful. Our tour manager and safari driver, Malcolm, was able to help us find out when and where wildlife was so we could see them closely. We took a lot of very nice photos. The foods and accommodations were also very good.

By far the best vacation I have been on. Tanzania was an extraordinary experience. Beautiful country with very friendly people. I think for this type of trip the tour guide really makes the trip if they are as knowledgeable as ours Timothy was. He was so patient with us and really had so much knowledge about the animals and the bush. This trip was very well done especially with the accommodations for being really out in the bush.
Carla S. Carmichael, CA
My trip was amazing. The planned itinerary was well-thought out and made the best use of time. Most importantly, the two guides, James and Romauld, went above and beyond what was expected of them. A guide can make or break a trip, and both guides did their absolute best to ensure that everyone had a fantastic time.

It was our 3rd trip with Gate 1 and it was beyond what words could describe. A trip not for the frail or weak as it was grueling but hard to believe they we did and saw the things we did. There is not enough space or time to tell all the marvels we experienced. How could a person be treated to so much luxury in such a wild and untamed part of our planet? We never dreamed of closeness we actually were privileged to experience. We heard the animal's sounds, felt their environment and saw their antics with guides who shared an encyclopedia of knowledge with us while guarding our safety. Each day gave us a unique experience to enjoy and talk about for years to come. It was a WOW !!! experience.

We can not say enough good things about our trip! It was AMAZING ... truly a trip of a life time!! We choose Gate 1 because we had such a great experience on a previous trip - to Machu Picchu and the Galapagos. This trip far exceeded our expectations!! Everything was incredible - the Parks, the animals, the Guides, the accommodations. Of course, you only have control over the Guides and the accommodations - both were exceptional! James and Benson were unbelievable at finding animals and birds! They took care of all our needs ... they went above and beyond! We were also very impressed with the accommodations ... especially the tents! The service provided to us at Lemala Ewanjan was impeccable and the Lake Mantra Kilimanoja Lodge has to be the most beautiful hotels we've ever stayed in! Congratulations to Gate 1 for putting together such an incredible tour! We have and will continue to recommend Gate 1 tours and look forward to planning our next trip!

My trip to Tanzania was wonderful. The two tour guides/drivers who took care of my group were very patient, courteous and professional. They went out of their way to make sure that we saw all the different kinds of animals in the parks. All along, they were very concerned about everyone's safety. Our accommodations were superb. I would rate them at four stars. Thank you Gate 1 for giving me such a wonderful experience in Tanzania Safari.
Hua-Yaw C. San Jose, CA
Fantastic! Trip of a lifetime. Compared to other safaris and the level of service and luxury accommodations we had, Gate 1 was a tremendous value. I'm looking forward to our next Gate 1 adventure.
Ernest W. Naples, FL

Hello Joseph! Our trip through Tanzania was simply amazing! Me and my family fell in love with the beautiful country and the kind and charismatic people of Tanzania. Our guides Wolfgan and Freddy were so great! they were very knowledgable, friendly and kind! They shared many interesting facts and stories about Tanzania and the animals we encountered on the safaris. We were very satisfied with all of the staff that we encountered throughout the trip. Everyone was very accommodating! The trip was an unforgettable experience that we all really enjoyed! Thank you to gate 1 Discovery tours!

Lauren W. Westlake, OH
We had a fantastic safari that gave us the chance to explore a whole new world in beautiful Tanzania. We had the opportunity to see a large variety of animals individually in a direct, personal an up-close manner at the Ngorongoro Conservation area. Later on, at the Serengeti, Lake Manyara and Terengire National Parks, we were able to see impressive animal migration. Both our tour guides were knowledgeable and we greatly appreciated that they took the time to answer the many questions posed. The tour pace was rapid and active, and we arrived tired, - but happy and grateful to have been able to take this remarkable journey!
